Ken Van Derveer - About the Artist

Ken Van Derveer is a local self-taught landscape artist who started painting in the last couple of years. He began his art journey with a goal to sell his works to raise money for a wheelchair and became committed to it once he realized that goal!

He has been an avid photographer his entire life and feels some of that training shows up in his paintings. Mountains and seascapes are the main theme of his current work, and he particularly enjoys the newer challenge that painting water brings. Getting a stormy scene or crashing waves ‘right’ brings him much satisfaction.
