As a nature enthusiast, I love to portray the little beauties that are so easily overlooked, and I like to show details too small to be seen with the naked eye. It is my hope that my artwork will motivate the viewer to take a moment to rest and admire the wonderful and precious nature that surrounds us.
All my drawings and paintings are inspired by macro photos, which I shoot myself. My drawings consist of many layers of medium on toned paper, to emphasize the subtle colour transitions on the insect’s outer bodies as seen in nature. Some drawings are made with coloured pencil only, some with the first layer of airbrushed acrylic paint and/or alcohol ink markers, then covered with multiple layers of coloured pencils.
